The Red Eye Red Tailed Puffer (Carinotetraodon irrubesco) is a freshwater species from Borneo and Sulawesi, known for its manageable size (1.75”) and red coloring on their bodies. It thrives in warm, acidic waters with minimal water movement, requiring soft water, plenty of cover, and tannins from botanicals like Indian Almond Leaves. It can be kept in groups with enough space, and is sexually dimorphic, with males displaying horizontal stripes and females showing a spotted pattern.
