Melanotaenia Ogilbyi, Ogilby's Rainbowfish

This population likely originates from the Timika Region in Southern Papua due to its color pattern matching the timika locale description. The Ogilby Rainbowfish is a dwarf species maxing out at 2.5 to 3.5 inches in size. The vibrant reds and yellows can be enhanced with quality dried foods, frozen fare and live micro-crustacean feedings. Against some lush green vegetation, Melanotaenia ogilbyi will truly shine! In a community tank this species will not shy away from larger rainbows, nor will they pick on smaller specimens or non-rainbowfish tankmates.
