Melanotaenia sp. "Lengguru" Rainbowfish
Melanotaenia sp. "Lengguru" Rainbowfish
Found in the same stream as "Kali Tawa" Rainbowfish and Melanotaenia sp. "Lobo," the "Lengguru Rainbowfish" is a big, chunky fish resembling species like M. ammeri and M. urisa, with it's prominent gold stripes contrasting a blue-black horizontal side stripe and large gold fins. This fish was discovered by Gary Lange, Johannes Graf, Wim Heemskirk and Dr. Martin Luter Salossa in 2019 while they were looking for the "Kali Tawa" Rainbowfish in Lobo Village, Lengguru.
A very hardy fish, the "Lengguru Rainbowfish" will accept most foods and attain a maximum size of 5" in the home aquarium. It is not fussy about water parameters and will tolerate a wide range as well.
