Bamboo Shrimp (Atyopsis moluccensis)

The Bamboo Shrimp is a large, filter-feeding species that utilizes fan-like feathery appendages to collect detritus and debris in the water column for consumption. Despite it's larger, more formidable size, this shrimp will peacefully coexist with smaller shrimp like Neocaridina and Caridina and will pose no harm to their young. Crushed flakes, powderized pellets and other tiny food presentations are ideal food choices to suit their needs. Because of their unique feeding habits, it is recommended to provide flow for them to "catch" debris in the water column.
